The First Question

Whyare wehere?

Progress begins when we ask the right questions.
They may be uncomfortable, but honest answers give us clarity, meaning, and a way forward.

I’m Tor.

I am a multidisciplinary creative and operator working across photography, motion, brand systems, hospitality, live experiences, and growing teams. torthecreator is my independent creative studio—it’s where those practices meet.

My perspective comes from high-growth technology, hands-on production, and workplace experience. I believe that what a business means should match what people actually see, feel, and receive.

A recurring subject

This isHarvey.

Harvey is my dog and one of the subjects I return to most. I’ve photographed him from puppyhood through changing seasons, learning when to direct and when to let the moment happen.

He is a good reminder that attention and patience make room for personality—whether I’m photographing an animal, a person, or a room full of people.

Why doesn’t thisportrait feel like me?

Because a pose is a shape, not a person. If I direct you into a rigid form, you look like a rigid form. It works better when we build a set where you can just be yourself.

Why did nobodyopen the newsletter?

Because the subject line felt like a transaction, the images looked like stock, and the copy was asking for something before it offered anything of value.

Why do they keepusing the old logo?

Because the new brand system looks great in a deck but requires three hours of training to use in a document. The gap between strategy and operations is where alignment breaks.

The right question gives the work a reason.
The honest answer gives it direction.
